How to group trace data
Grouping creates unique traces based off of the unique values in a column of your data. Use group by to visually highlight or style different groups in your data set.
Step 1. Select group data
Select a column of data by which to group. Each unique value in this column will result in a new trace.
Step 2. Select traces to group
Select traces to group across. Each selected trace will be broken into separate traces for each group.
How to aggregate trace data
An aggregation groups your data based on the unique values in a column of data and aggregates those groups into single data values. Use an aggregation to get statistical summaries about your data.
Step 1. Select a trace to aggregate
The selected trace will be broken into groups during the next step. Currently only a single aggregation may be applied to any one trace.
Step 2. Select a column to group by
Select a column of data by which to group. Each unique value in this column will result in a new group.
Step 3. Select aggregation functions
Select aggregation functions to turn each group into a single data value. An aggregation function must be chosen for each of the trace's data fields. These are automatically populated by the panel and given a default value.
